Features and Capabilities of the Magura Drone
According to GUR representative Andriy Yusov,
«We are presenting the drones «Magura». We will showcase this development, which GUR… under the orders of General Budanov, has destroyed the Black Sea Fleet and more. As of now, (drones of the entire «Magura» family – ed.) have destroyed 21 enemy targets. This is a world record, it’s the first time. This includes 16 ships, three helicopters, and two fighter jets. The cost of just two fighter jets exceeds 100 million dollars».
The Magura V7 marine drone has a maximum range of up to 800 nautical miles. Its length is 7.2 meters, width is 2.1 meters, and height is 1.5 meters. The surface of the hull is made of polyethylene and fiberglass, ensuring strength and resistance to marine conditions.
The autonomy of this device reaches 48 hours, and when using a generator, up to 7 days. The weight of the empty drone is 1300 kilograms, and with a full load, it is 3400 kilograms. The fuel tank has a capacity of 1200 liters, with a cruising speed of 23 knots and a maximum speed of no less than 39 knots.
Technical Specifications and Applications
Thanks to its high payload capacity, the Magura V7 can serve both as a self-propelled warhead (kamikaze) and be armed with missiles. The drone is equipped with multi-channel satellite communication, a marine environment monitoring system, and is capable of countering electronic warfare. Control is conducted via an encrypted remote control or satellite communication.
Armament includes a machine gun module, anti-aircraft missiles, and external sensors provide video surveillance both day and night. This high-tech device is capable of performing a wide range of operations: reconnaissance, ship destruction, patrolling, rescue and firefighting measures, mine clearance activities, cargo delivery, and vessel protection.
In addition to the Magura V7, the presentation showcased modifications Magura V5 and Magura W6P, indicating a wide range of applications and potential further enhancements of this development.
«The word Magura has several meanings – it is a high mountain, a goddess, and now it can also be called the fear of Russian occupiers appearing in and over the Black Sea. And this is just the beginning. This is a Ukrainian innovation that has already changed and will definitely change the course of this war»
