Ukrainian defense forces successfully struck one of the most important enterprises of the Russian defense industry — the ‘Votkinsk Plant’, which is involved in the production of ballistic missiles. This was reported by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, who emphasized the exceptional effectiveness of the latest Ukrainian cruise missiles FP-5 ‘Flamingo’.

Accuracy and Quality of Ukrainian Missiles
Zelensky stressed that all ‘Flamingo’ missiles launched at the target reached the object, despite the countermeasures from Russian air defense. According to the president, this indicates a high level of development and accuracy of Ukrainian products. The president also noted that the success of the operation demonstrates Ukraine’s ability to effectively utilize its own technologies to strike strategic enemy targets.
“I won’t say how many ‘Flamingo’ missiles we launched this time. I just want to say that there were interceptions by Russian air defense, there were non-interceptions, and there were precise hits. But the most important thing is that all the missiles that were launched reached the target. I believe this is the main success, meaning we are talking about high quality and accuracy,” Zelensky said at a press conference with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre in Kyiv.
Significance of the Strike on the ‘Votkinsk Plant’
The president emphasized that the Russian Federation is actively trying to disrupt the production of Ukrainian FP-5 missiles, and due to numerous attacks, Ukraine has had to wait for the restoration of the production line. At the same time, Zelensky stated that the pace of missile production will increase, although this depends on both funding and the availability of necessary components.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine previously confirmed that on the night of February 21, Ukrainian forces struck military industry and logistics facilities of the Russian army, including using FP-5 ‘Flamingo’ missiles against the ‘Votkinsk Plant’ in the city of Votkinsk in the Udmurt Republic. As a result of the attack, a large fire broke out at the enterprise.
The ‘Votkinsk Plant’ is one of the key manufacturers of intercontinental ballistic missiles in Russia. In particular, it produces RS-24 ‘Yars’, ‘Yars-S’, ‘Yars-M’ missiles, the ZM-30 (R-30) ‘Bulava’ ballistic missiles for Project 955A ‘Borey-A’ submarines, as well as 9M723-1 missiles for the Iskander-M operational-tactical missile system and 9-S-7760 for the aviation complex ‘Dagger’.
