President Volodymyr Zelensky held a meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief’s Headquarters, during which important issues regarding the development of drones and Ukraine’s missile program were discussed. During the meeting, the state leader focused on contracts, finances, technical aspects, and the production of unmanned aerial vehicles.

“Today, I heard the results of the downing of ‘shaheds’ by interceptor drones – I want to thank everyone who is developing this direction. We are working on increasing the production of reactive drones, as well as fiber-optic drones – this is very important right now, one of the key issues, and sufficient supply to the troops is needed,” said the head of state.
In addition, the participants of the meeting discussed Ukraine’s missile program, particularly the acceleration of the production of necessary systems.
“We are also working on establishing our own production of anti-aircraft missile systems in Ukraine, all the necessary air defense systems.”
Zelensky also noted that during meetings in Europe, the Ukrainian authorities actively discussed with international partners the issue of localizing production in Ukraine, including the production of air defense systems and missiles.
Not long ago, the Director of the Procurement Policy Department of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Hlib Kanievskyi, reported that in 2025 the ministry signed contracts with 12 Ukrainian arms manufacturers for a total amount of about 130 billion hryvnias as part of the “Weapon of Victory” initiative.
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Ukraine has been striving to increase its own weapons production, partially collaborating with international partners. Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal confirmed during a press conference that as of today, Ukraine produces about one-third of the necessary amount of armaments.
