The foreign ministers of Ukraine, Lithuania, and Poland held a meeting in Lublin, Poland, to commemorate the fifth anniversary of the establishment of the Lublin Triangle. The main topic of discussion was strengthening cooperation and planning further steps within the trilateral format.

Support for Ukraine and a Joint Position on Security

The participants in the negotiations reaffirmed their unwavering support for Ukraine’s territorial integrity and emphasized the importance of adhering to sanctions against the Russian Federation. The ministers also expressed steadfast support for Ukraine’s Euro-Atlantic aspirations, noted the progress of reforms aimed at joining the European Union, and highlighted the importance of continued support on the path to NATO membership.

The ministers “expressed their readiness to encourage the presidents of Ukraine, the Republic of Lithuania, and the Republic of Poland to hold the upcoming presidential meeting of the Lublin Triangle in Kyiv.”

Lublin Triangle: Five Years of Regional Cooperation

The Lublin Triangle was formed in July 2020 as a regional alliance of three states – Lithuania, Poland, and Ukraine. During this time, the participating countries have regularly held meetings at both the ministerial and heads of state levels. Such contacts contribute to strengthening cooperation in the fields of security, politics, and European integration.

An important outcome of the current meeting was the agreement to prepare for the upcoming summit of the presidents of the Lublin Triangle countries, which is planned to be held in Kyiv. This could be another step towards deepening the strategic partnership between Ukraine, Lithuania, and Poland.
