Among the main priorities of the ministry, Oleksiy Sobolev highlighted the development of the private sector and industry, deregulation and strengthening economic freedom, privatization of state property, attracting investments, and expanding exports. Special attention is given to digitalization – in particular, the introduction of two new mechanisms for obtaining feedback from businesses, as well as humanitarian demining, human capital development, updating the Labor Code, and supporting farmers in frontline areas through state programs.
International Cooperation and Future Plans
The minister emphasized the importance of joint international events planned for this year in G7 countries. In particular, a Conference on Ukraine’s Mine Action will take place in Tokyo in October, the ReBuild Ukraine forum in Warsaw in November, and the German-Ukrainian Business Forum in Berlin in December.
As a result of the meeting, representatives of the G7 and the EU confirmed their support for the strategic directions of Ukraine’s development, as well as their readiness to cooperate and provide expert consultations. The parties agreed on closer cooperation in implementing reforms, particularly in the areas of privatization, anti-corruption policy, and deregulation.
The G7 press service noted the productivity of the negotiations and the importance of joint efforts to strengthen the business climate, attract investments, and accelerate Ukraine’s Euro-Atlantic integration.
It should be noted that Oleksiy Sobolev took over the Ministry of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture as part of the new government in July 2025.
