Repair of Miskaya Street: Scope and Features of the Project

The municipal corporation “Kyivavtodor” has launched a tender for the capital repair of Miskaya Street, which runs through the Svyatoshyn, Podilsk, and Obolon districts of Kyiv, as well as covering the areas of Berkovets and Pushcha-Vodytsia.

Miskaya Street is one of the key highways of the city, built back in 1950, with its last reconstruction taking place in 1996. Currently, the road surface is in unsatisfactory condition: the roadway has a significant number of potholes, cracks, and ruts, complicating traffic flow.

“A large amount of freight traffic passes through the street, heading both to the capital and transiting to other cities in Ukraine.”

Work Plan and Funding

The corporation emphasizes that Miskaya is used daily not only by city residents but also by private and passenger transport from the Kyiv region, particularly from Bucha, Irpin, Borodyanka, Hostomel, Vorzel, and others.

At this moment, project documentation has already been developed and approved, taking into account modern accessibility requirements. The project includes a complete renewal of the roadway surface, the establishment of cycling infrastructure, the reconstruction of sidewalks, lowering curbs at crossings and bike crossings to the level of the roadway, as well as the installation of tactile navigation for people with disabilities.

Additionally, the repair of the existing stormwater drainage network and the installation of a new one are planned, which will contribute to the improvement of the area’s infrastructure.

The total length of the section planned for capital repair is 1.75 km. Although “Kyivavtodor” did not specify the exact cost of the work, according to the data from the electronic procurement system Prozorro, the expected amount of the project exceeds 502 million hryvnias.
