The leaders of ‘Kyivzelenbud’ have found themselves at the center of a scandal due to suspicions of large-scale bribery and kickbacks from contractors.

New Suspicions in the Corruption Case
Law enforcement officials have reported suspicions against two more officials of ‘Kyivzelenbud’ as part of the investigation into corruption crimes related to receiving bribes from contracting organizations. Investigators have established that one of the leaders of a district communal enterprise in Kyiv acted as a representative of a contractor in agreements with the administration of ‘Kyivzelenbud’. According to the investigation, he assisted this contractor in winning several tenders and acted as an intermediary in transferring over one million hryvnias to officials of the communal association.
Additionally, another contractor has been identified who admitted to participating in the corruption scheme and agreed to pay money to the municipal workers in exchange for winning in tender procedures. He has also been notified of suspicion.
Among the suspects are the head of ‘Kyivzelenbud’ and his first deputy, who established a scheme for receiving money from entrepreneurs. Also under suspicion are the deputy head of one of the departments of ‘Kyivzelenbud’ and the leaders of four contracting enterprises that agreed to pay kickbacks by signing contracts for the execution of work.
Who is Suspected of Corruption in ‘Kyivzelenbud’?
The list of suspects in this case includes the general director of the municipal enterprise ‘Kyivzelenbud’, Yuriy Bakhmat, his first deputy Oleksiy Lukash, and the deputy head of the capital investments department, Oleksandr Hora. They are suspected of systematically receiving bribes from contractor entrepreneurs who signed contracts for work financed by the city budget. In addition to the leaders of the communal enterprise, several representatives of contracting organizations involved in the corruption schemes have also been notified of suspicion.
The investigation is ongoing, and law enforcement officials continue their work to expose all those involved in corrupt activities in the capital’s improvement sector.
