The opposition political forces “Holos” and “European Solidarity” have called for the immediate resignation of the current government and the formation of a new parliamentary coalition in the Verkhovna Rada. These statements were prompted by large-scale corruption investigations in the energy sector, which have gained public resonance and raised doubts about trust in the authorities.

Opposition Demands: New Government and Restoration of Trust
The “Holos” party emphasized the unprecedented nature of the situation that has arisen in the highest echelons of state power. According to the politicians, the consequences of the corruption identified at the top of the government could have catastrophic effects on Ukrainian statehood. “Holos” insists that the current composition of the Cabinet of Ministers was formed in a non-transparent manner and allowed the development of a large-scale crisis, thus it must immediately resign to restore public trust.
“The situation unfolding around the detection of corruption in the highest echelons of power is absolutely extraordinary, and its consequences could be not just severe but catastrophic for Ukrainian statehood. Despite the fact that it is impossible to hold elections under martial law, cleansing the decision-making centers on Bankova Street, which have essentially monopolized all state power, is an urgent necessity for the salvation of the country… The composition of the Cabinet of Ministers, which was appointed in a non-transparent manner and which has effectively allowed a crisis of this magnitude, must urgently resign. This is a necessary step to restore lost trust”
The opposition emphasizes that the formation of a new government should not occur under directives from the President’s Office, but rather based on consensus among pro-Ukrainian political forces in parliament. There is also a call for the cleansing of personnel and the restoration of political subjectivity for both the government and parliament.
Position of “European Solidarity” and Progress of Investigations
The leader of “European Solidarity,” former President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, also highlighted the importance of changing the management system and creating a new, patriotic coalition in the Verkhovna Rada. According to him, the future government should consist of specialists with impeccable reputations, rather than being the result of backroom deals.
Both political forces stress the necessity of bringing anti-corruption investigations to a logical conclusion and ensuring that all guilty parties are held accountable. In their opinion, parliament must guarantee the independence of NABU and SAP from any political pressure.
The corruption scandal erupted after NABU announced the exposure of a criminal organization that systematically received illicit benefits from “Energoatom” contracts amounting to 10–15% of their value. According to investigators, the amount of laundered funds reached approximately 100 million dollars. The office through which the money was laundered belonged to the family of former people’s deputy and now senator of the Russian Federation Andriy Derkach, who NABU suspects in another criminal case.
Among those involved in the case are significant figures: former business partner of Volodymyr Zelensky from “Kvartal 95” Timur Mindich, who, according to law enforcement, has already left Ukraine; former Minister of Energy Herman Halushchenko and former Deputy Prime Minister Oleksiy Chernyshov. A total of eight individuals have been announced as suspects, five of whom have been detained.
NABU detective Oleksandr Abakumov reported that four ministers from the Cabinet of Ministers are involved in the case, although they are officials from different periods.
Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko has submitted a proposal to parliament for the dismissal of Minister of Energy Svitlana Hrynchuk.
The President’s Office and the current government have not commented on the situation so far.
