In the morning, a major pipeline burst occurred in the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kyiv, near the ‘Dorohozhychi’ metro station on Yuriy Illienko Street. The flow of water flooded the roadway, and residents of two districts in the capital experienced a drop in water pressure.

Traffic Restrictions and Utility Services Operations

As a result of the pipeline accident, traffic is complicated on the section from Pravydnykiv Street to Haret Johnson Street. All relevant services promptly arrived at the scene to carry out emergency restoration work. Residents are urged to plan their travel routes in advance to avoid traffic jams.

“A pipeline burst occurred on Yuriy Illienko Street. Traffic is complicated from Pravydnykiv Street to Haret Johnson Street. All relevant services are working on-site,” the message states.

Impact of the Accident on Water Supply and Public Transport

Due to the pipeline burst, there is reduced water pressure in the Shevchenkivskyi and Solomianskyi districts. The city authorities reported that to ensure the operation of public transport, trolleybuses on routes No. 16 and 35 are temporarily running along Dorohozhytska Street. Residents of these districts are advised to consider possible interruptions in water supply and to keep an eye on updates regarding the elimination of the accident’s consequences.
