Safety and Technical Issues with the Shelter
As a result of inspections conducted by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and local authorities, a number of critical deficiencies in the protective structure were identified. In particular, there are no proper ventilation, water supply, and electricity supply systems, as well as alert systems and emergency exits. This makes the operation of the shelter impossible and dangerous for residents.
“According to the results of multiple inspections by the SES and local authorities, the shelter has a number of serious violations: there are no proper ventilation, water supply, electricity supply systems, alert systems, or emergency exits – which makes its intended use impossible”
It was previously reported that the structure is under the management of the municipal enterprise “Managing Company for Housing Services of the Podil District of Kyiv.” This case is currently being reviewed by the Kyiv District Administrative Court, which is set to make a decision regarding further repairs and inspections of the shelter.
