Kremlin Statements and the Situation at the Front
Russian President Vladimir Putin has not ordered the continuation of the “Easter ceasefire” after midnight on April 21, according to Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov. Meanwhile, earlier on April 19, the Russian leader announced a cessation of hostilities from 6:00 PM on April 19 to 12:00 AM on April 21, adding that Russian troops should be prepared for possible violations of the ceasefire.
Ukraine reported that Russian military forces are not adhering to the ceasefire regime established by Vladimir Putin, and attempts to attack have been recorded in the areas of Sukha Balka and Bohatyr in Donetsk. The Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed these incidents, indicating the current tense situation at the front.
“Russia’s actions after midnight, tomorrow, and throughout the week will show Russia’s true attitude towards the peace efforts of the United States and the proposal for a 30-day complete ceasefire. They will demonstrate whether Russia is serious about peace or if yesterday’s statements by Putin were merely manipulations.”
