Russia plans to deploy four long-range drone control stations in Belarus

Зеленський анонсував зустріч із лідерами «коаліції охочих» у суботу

The Russian Federation is preparing to expand its network of ground control stations for long-range drones on the territory of Belarus. This became known after the report from the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Oleg Ivashchenko, to the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky. According to the information received, it concerns the deployment of four such stations specifically in Belarus, as well as the further deployment of similar facilities in temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories.

Ukraine’s Response and International Cooperation

The President of Ukraine stated that the authorities already have clear information about these plans and will respond accordingly to the threat. Zelensky instructed the head of the GUR to inform international partners and media representatives about the data that can be made public.

“We have clear information that Russia plans further deployment of ground control stations for long-range drones both in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine and four stations on the territory of Belarus. We will respond accordingly. I instructed Oleg Ivashchenko to inform partners and media representatives about the data we can make public”

Belarus’s Position and Information Pressure from Russia

In February, Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko, in response to statements from Russian intelligence, emphasized that Belarus remains in a close alliance with Russia. According to him, “there is no force capable of separating Belarus from Russia.”

At the same time, the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service issued a statement about the alleged intentions of Western countries to influence Belarus, claiming that the West is looking for new “liberal activists” in the country to implement scenarios of “color revolutions.” Such messages are part of Russia’s information campaign to discredit Western countries and justify its own military activity in adjacent territories.
