Consequences of the Strike: Destruction and Fires in Kharkiv
The enemy attack targeted residential areas in the Slobidskyi and Osnovianskyi districts of Kharkiv. Drones hit a trolleybus depot, a private house, and several apartment buildings. As a result of the strikes, fires broke out in citizens’ homes and across the city, with vehicles and a children’s playground also catching fire. Emergency responders from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine promptly reacted to the emergencies, localizing the fires and providing assistance to the victims.

Government Response and Scale of the Attack
President Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the international community, urging them not to delay in making new decisions aimed at increasing pressure on Russia. The head of state emphasized that this latest strike targeted ordinary civilians and once again proves the necessity for decisive action.
“Currently, work is ongoing in Kharkiv following the nighttime strike by Russian ‘Shaheds.’ The attack hit ordinary homes. As of now, 64 people are known to be injured, including nine children. Unfortunately, three people have died… There were many fires in the city, but, as always, our emergency responders from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine acted promptly,” Zelensky reported.

According to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, from 10:00 PM on June 10, the Russian Federation launched a massive attack on Ukraine using 85 strike drones of the ‘Shahed’ type and imitation drones from various directions: Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, as well as from temporarily occupied Crimea (Chaud and Hvardiyiske). Additionally, a ballistic missile ‘Iskander-M’ was fired at Ukraine from the Kursk region. The main targets of the strike were the Donetsk, Kharkiv, and Odesa regions.
Ukrainian air defense units shot down 49 out of 85 enemy drones, significantly reducing the scale of destruction and the number of casualties.
