Objectives of the Ukrainian Delegation and Expectations from the Negotiations

Zelensky noted that the Ukrainian side continues to actively collaborate with American partners and hopes for constructive outcomes from the meetings in Geneva, which are to be refined in the USA. The President expects a final report from the delegation after the negotiations, which will take place this Sunday, November 30.

“The Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine and head of the Ukrainian delegation, Rustem Umerov, along with his team, is already on the way to the United States. Today (November 29 – ed.) was Rustem’s report, and the task is clear – to promptly and meaningfully prepare the definition of steps to end the war,” Zelensky stated.

The President emphasized that Ukraine seeks to achieve a dignified peace through diplomatic efforts and constructive dialogue with Western partners.

Changes in the Delegation Composition and Details of the Case Regarding Andriy Yermak

On November 29, Volodymyr Zelensky approved a new composition of the Ukrainian delegation, which is negotiating with the United States and the Russian Federation regarding the establishment of a fair and sustainable peace. Rustem Umerov has been appointed as the head of the delegation. These changes occurred following the resignation of Andriy Yermak, the previous head of the negotiations from Ukraine, which took place against the backdrop of searches conducted at his premises.

The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine confirmed the conduct of investigative actions involving the head of the President’s Office on November 28. Andriy Yermak commented on the situation, stating that investigators had full access to his apartment and encountered no obstacles. He also mentioned his intention to go to the front after his resignation, although he did not disclose details.

No official information has been released regarding the case in which the searches were conducted or the status of Yermak. According to media reports, Yermak does not hold the status of a suspect in the criminal proceedings.

Previously, MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak stated that in the NABU recordings in the “Midas” case, Andriy Yermak is mentioned under the code name “Ali Baba.” According to the head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, Oleksandr Klymenko, the individual with this pseudonym issued orders regarding the persecution of NABU detectives and may have been involved in attempts to undermine the independence of the NBU and SAP in July 2025. These plans were thwarted by the so-called “cardboard protests.”
