The Kyiv City Military Administration (KCMA) is working together with the Asset Recovery and Management Agency (ARMA) to create a special mechanism that will direct seized housing to meet the needs of internally displaced persons (IDPs) and all those who have lost their homes during the hostilities.

Support Mechanism for War Victims

KCMA Chief Timur Tkachенко reported that last week he held a working meeting with ARMA Chair Olena Duma. Following the discussions, it was decided to launch a pilot project that involves transferring seized apartments to citizens who are in greatest need.

“Kyiv today is not just the capital, but a support point for Ukrainians who have lost their homes due to the war. We cannot leave these challenges unanswered. Therefore, the joint initiative with ARMA is an important step towards a systematic solution to the housing issue for internally displaced persons and other vulnerable categories,” wrote Timur Tkachенко.

Pilot Project for the Capital and Prospects for Expansion

Timur Tkachенко emphasized that the capital has the necessary resources to implement the initiative. According to him, the capital project will be a pilot, and if it proves effective, the experience will be extended to other regions of Ukraine. KCMA and ARMA plan to work together to ensure that this project meets the housing needs of the most vulnerable segments of the population who cannot afford to wait for assistance.
