Interim Audit Results and Identified Violations

Svyrydenko emphasized that the audit is ongoing, with primary focus on analyzing excessive expenditures, particularly those related to the company’s risky operations. She highlighted that a number of violations have already been established concerning the procedure for determining the expected cost of procurements, instances of inflated costs for the purchase of goods and materials, as well as the involvement of intermediaries during the supply of goods.

“Deficiencies have already been identified in determining the expected cost of procurements, instances of inflated costs for the acquisition of goods and materials, as well as the involvement of intermediaries during the supply of goods,” she reported.

Next Steps and Leadership Updates

Separately, the Prime Minister noted that auditors are examining the legality of salary payments to the management of Energoatom. The identified violations, as Svyrydenko emphasized, will receive appropriate legal assessment from law enforcement agencies, and all responsible parties will be held accountable.

At the end of January, the government updated the composition of the supervisory board of Energoatom. Independent members have already signed the relevant contracts, and the first meeting of the new supervisory board is scheduled for next week.

As a reminder, in November 2025, Yulia Svyrydenko announced the launch of audit processes in state companies, paying special attention to the energy sector. This occurred against the backdrop of an investigation by NABU regarding possible violations in the operations of Energoatom.

On November 10, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine announced the exposure of a criminal group that systematically received unlawful benefits from Energoatom’s counterparties, ranging from 10% to 15% of the contract value.
