Radio Dictation for the Day of Ukrainian Writing and Language
The event is dedicated to the celebration of the Day of Ukrainian Writing and Language. Everyone is welcome to participate in writing the dictation, regardless of their place of residence, as the broadcast will be live on all platforms of Public Broadcasting – television, radio, and digital services. This will ensure access for viewers and listeners from around the world.
Participation and Significance of the Event
Every year, the highest participation in the radio dictation comes from schoolchildren, students, and educators. However, everyone who values and studies the Ukrainian language takes part in this event. According to the coordinator of the radio dictation and executive producer of Ukrainian Radio, Yulia Sheludko, this year there has been a record number of inquiries from individuals and companies wishing to write the dictation together in a corporate format.
“This is an important indicator of the significance of the radio dictation for Ukrainians”.
The name of the author of this year’s radio dictation text, as well as the person who will read it on air, will be announced closer to the date of the event.
Last year, over 500,000 people participated in the All-Ukrainian Radio Dictation of National Unity on Public platforms. Nearly 10,000 letters were submitted for verification from more than 30 countries around the world. In 2024, the text was written by Oksana Zabuzhko, and it was read by Pavlo Vyshebaba, a poet and military serviceman.
