The Committee of the Verkhovna Rada Approved Zelensky’s Bill on the Powers of NABU and SAP

The Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Law Enforcement Activities reviewed and unanimously supported Bill No. 13533, submitted by the President of Ukraine as urgent, on July 30. The document defines new frameworks for the powers of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAP).

The Bill Received Unanimous Support

Verkhovna Rada member Yaroslav Zheleznyak, representing the “Holos” faction, noted that all 19 members of the relevant committee supported the bill in its proposed version. This indicates a consolidated position among lawmakers regarding the need for changes in the fight against corruption.

“All 19 participants in the meeting unanimously supported the document in the form it was submitted.”

Next Steps for the Adoption of the Law

It is expected that the issue of adopting Bill No. 13533 regarding the powers of NABU and SAP will be brought before the Verkhovna Rada on July 31. The new legislative initiatives aim to enhance the effectiveness of anti-corruption agencies and strengthen mechanisms to prevent corruption in Ukraine.
