Planning of project documentation and main reasons for reconstruction

The municipal corporation “Kyivavtodor” has announced a tender for the development of project documentation for the reconstruction of the Kharkiv Overpass, which crosses the railway tracks on Kharkiv Highway. It has been preliminarily estimated that the preparation of the project will cost the city budget more than 17 million UAH.

According to the department, the Kharkiv Overpass was put into operation back in 1947. Currently, it is used daily by cars and trams. The last major repairs on this highway were conducted in 1996 and 2006. At that time, defects were addressed, protective measures for structural elements were implemented, and expansion joints were replaced.

As of today, according to “Kyivavtodor,” the technical condition and dimensions of the overpass no longer meet modern requirements for load capacity, throughput, and accessibility.

“The structure has exhausted its operational resource and requires reconstruction.”

Planned changes during reconstruction

As part of the capital repair, the expansion of the roadway for motor vehicles and the installation of two tram tracks are planned. In addition, it is planned to lay bike paths and create an accessible space for the comfortable movement of pedestrians.

According to information from the electronic public procurement system Prozorro, the estimated cost of developing project documentation for the reconstruction is over 17.8 million UAH.
