As a result of the night airstrike by Russian forces on Kyiv that occurred on August 28, the death toll has reached 25 people. Rescue services have completed the cleanup of the aftermath of the shelling in the capital.

Extensive destruction in the Darnytsia district
The Darnytsia district of Kyiv suffered the most destruction, where a five-story residential building was completely destroyed by a direct missile hit – from the first to the fifth floor. This building became the site of the deaths of 22 residents, including four children. Three more people died in other areas of the city. Meanwhile, rescuers saved 15 people, including four children.

Rescue operations and assistance
According to the rescue service, units of the State Emergency Service were working at 19 sites, eliminating the consequences of enemy strikes in six districts of the capital. Over 700 rescuers, nearly 150 units of equipment, and seven service dogs were involved in the operations. Psychologists from the State Emergency Service, the National Police, and the Red Cross Society provided support to 312 citizens.

In addition, thanks to robotic technology and tow trucks, 26 damaged vehicles were removed. The destroyed part of the residential building in the Darnytsia district was completely dismantled, and 3,150 tons of construction materials and debris were removed from the site of the tragedy.
