A tragic event occurred in the Podil district of the capital: one of the residents died in a fire in an apartment of a three-story building. The incident happened in the evening when a report of a fire on Elektrikiv Lane was received.

According to the information from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Kyiv, the fire broke out in one of the apartments on the second floor. Rescuers who arrived at the scene evacuated six people, including four children. One person sustained injuries.
“On April 10 at 21:03, a report was received about a fire that broke out on Elektrikiv Lane in the Podil district of the city,” the statement said.
During the firefighting efforts, rescuers discovered the body of the deceased in the residence. The flames were localized over an area of 25 square meters at 21:03, and the complete extinguishment of the fire was finished at 21:57. Thirteen firefighters and three units of firefighting equipment were on site.
Law enforcement officials are already working to establish the circumstances of the tragedy and the cause of the fire.
