«досягли домовленостей і будемо переходити в операційну площину»

Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, commenting on the issue of air defense production in Ukraine, noted that agreements have been reached, and the country is now moving towards the practical implementation of these agreements. As reported by a correspondent from Radio Free Europe, he made this statement during a press briefing following a meeting in the “Ramstein” format in Brussels.

“We have communicated, and we do not want to go into too much detail, but this has already been worked out. We are currently discussing the modalities and how these enterprises will operate in Ukraine,” the minister said in response to a question about the approval of licenses for the production of air defense systems.

“We have reached agreements and are now moving into the operational phase, so as not to disclose who, what, and how was agreed upon.”

President Volodymyr Zelensky, ahead of the meeting, emphasized that Ukraine needs at least 10 Patriot systems to effectively counter Russian ballistic missiles.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion by Russia, Ukraine has been actively working to increase its own weapons production, partially implementing projects in collaboration with international partners. According to the President, the country has already sent 155mm ammunition into production, as well as long-range and naval drones. Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal also reported significant production volumes of artillery systems and armored vehicles.
