President Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the servicemen with gratitude for their courage and resilience in the fight for the country’s independence.

On December 6, Ukraine solemnly celebrates Armed Forces Day. On this occasion, the president recorded a video address in which he expressed deep gratitude to all those who defend the state and emphasized the importance of the army for national unity and security.
Armed Forces Day: A Symbol of the Resilience and Strength of the Ukrainian People
Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that the holiday is not just a date on the calendar, but a symbol of Ukrainian strength and unwavering faith in their own capabilities. He highlighted that the servicemen of the Armed Forces have become a unifying link for the entire nation: they inspire, unite in struggle and memory, and encourage respect within society.
“December 6 is a great day, a day for those who, holding weapons, prove Ukrainian strength – Armed Forces Day of Ukraine. And this is about those who truly unite our people in struggle, gratitude, memory, and, of course, unite us in great respect,” Zelensky emphasized.
Gratitude to Defenders and Remembrance of Heroes
The president specifically noted that respect for the military has become a unique phenomenon for Ukrainian society. It is manifested in numerous images on the streets, in cities and homes across the country, in hundreds of dedications and millions of words of thanks to every defender.
Zelensky recalled the days when the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation began, and almost the entire world doubted Ukraine’s ability to resist, but it was the Ukrainian warriors who stood firm, setting an example for many. He emphasized that alongside the military, hundreds of thousands of men and women joined the defense, becoming true heroes of modernity.
The president expressed special gratitude to all those who daily defend the country, risking their own lives for a peaceful future and making efforts to establish a just peace.
Volodymyr Zelensky assured that everyone who stands in defense of Ukraine deserves the pride and respect of the nation, and the memory of the fallen heroes will live on forever.
