Mykhailo Podolyak emphasized that the United States has already proposed a complete ceasefire, including a ban on missile attacks and the use of drones by both sides. However, according to Podolyak, Russia rejected these scenarios, continuing to use air and drone strikes to exert psychological pressure on Ukraine.

“None of these scenarios were accepted by Russia. Airstrikes are a key tool through which Moscow exerts psychological pressure on Ukraine… Russia is unlikely to want to lose the ability to use aviation and mass drone deployment. However, Ukraine is ready to discuss this, is willing to consider this scenario, and sees it as a starting point for realistic negotiations,” Podolyak said.

Response from the President of Ukraine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky previously noted that he supports the initiative of U.S. President Donald Trump for an immediate ceasefire. Zelensky emphasized that the Ukrainian side has repeatedly offered Russia to stop shelling, especially in the air, to protect civilian infrastructure and energy facilities. However, these proposals have not been fulfilled by the Russian side.

Ukraine views the possibility of negotiations to cease airstrikes as a first step towards realistic negotiations to end hostilities.
