The war demands prompt decisions to protect Kyiv
This is reported by Kyiv24
The latest meeting of the Kyiv Defense Council did not take place due to the absence of co-chair, Mayor Vitali Klitschko, who is currently on vacation. This was reported in a publication by the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Timur Tkachенко.
Why the Defense Council Meeting Did Not Happen
“The Kyiv Defense Council is once again unable to convene. This time — due to the vacation of the co-chair. The mayor has gone on vacation again,” wrote Timur Tkachенко.
According to Tkachенко, during a period when the capital is facing new security challenges, the Defense Council cannot effectively respond to urgent issues. The tool designed to make quick decisions for the protection of the city is not functioning at full capacity during this critical time of war.
Consequences of the Defense Council’s Decision Blockage
The head of the KMVA also pointed out that the issue of including the heads of district state administrations in the Council has still not been resolved. According to him, the co-chair of the Council is blocking the relevant order, complicating operations on the ground.
The delay in resolving personnel issues, according to Tkachенко, negatively impacts the restoration of the capital’s damaged infrastructure, the establishment of shelters, and the organization of defense work in the city. He described such delays in processes as harmful to Kyiv, especially in the context of the ongoing war.
