Trump assessed Putin’s attitude towards the losses of Russian troops
In his interview on the podcast Pod Force One, responding to journalist Miranda Devine’s question about whether significant losses of personnel in the Russian army in Ukraine concern Putin, Trump noted:
“I’m starting to think that he doesn’t care. He is losing a lot of soldiers, just like Ukraine. We’ll see what happens next.”
The former American president also emphasized that even when there is some progress in negotiations or peace initiatives between the parties, the situation unexpectedly escalates due to shelling of facilities that should not have been targeted. According to him, this undermines any achievements on the path to peace.
The number of casualties among Russian troops is increasing
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as of June 2025, the total losses of the Russian army, including killed and wounded, have exceeded one million since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
Earlier, on June 5, Donald Trump stated that Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelensky “hate” each other, comparing their interaction to a fight between children in a park. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky sharply reacted to these words, emphasizing that “we are not children in a park with Putin. He (Putin) is a murderer who came to this park to kill children.”
