U.S. President Donald Trump stated that to achieve victory in an armed conflict, it is necessary to have the capability to counterattack and strike the territory of the aggressor country. He expressed this opinion in his post on the social network Truth Social on August 21.

Trump criticized U.S. policy regarding restrictions for Ukraine
“It is very hard, if not impossible, to win a war without attacking the aggressor country. It’s like a great sports team that has a fantastic defense but is not allowed to play offense. There are no chances of winning! The same applies to Ukraine and Russia,” he said.
Trump emphasized that the current U.S. administration under Joe Biden has imposed significant restrictions on Ukraine’s ability to strike Russia using American weaponry. In his opinion, such restrictions diminish Ukraine’s chances of victory in the war.
The former U.S. president also noted that the conflict between Ukraine and Russia could have been avoided if he had been in office during that period. Trump is confident that in that case, “this war would never have happened.”
Ukraine’s plans for long-range missiles and Trump’s position
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky previously stated that by the end of December this year or early 2026, our country plans to launch mass production of long-range “Flamingo” missiles. According to him, these missiles have already successfully passed tests and are capable of covering distances of up to three thousand kilometers.
In July, Trump emphasized that his administration had no intention of supplying Ukraine with long-range missiles, highlighting a cautious approach to escalating hostilities between Ukraine and Russia.
