Funding for Ukraine will be provided by Denmark, Sweden, Canada, Norway, and Iceland. Part of the financing will come from revenues from frozen assets of the Russian Federation. The allocated funds will be directed towards the production of Ukrainian weapons, including artillery systems, strike drones, missiles, and anti-tank means developed and manufactured by Ukrainian enterprises for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“The first tranche – €428 million from Denmark, Sweden, Canada, Norway, and Iceland. The funds will soon be allocated for the production of Ukrainian weapons: artillery, strike drones, missiles, and anti-tank means created in Ukraine for our soldiers,” the minister stated.

Details of the ‘Danish Model’ and Future Plans

Rustem Umerov emphasized that the ‘Danish model’ provides direct support for the Ukrainian defense industry, reflecting the trust of international partners in the Ukrainian army and national manufacturers. The Defense Minister highlighted that this decision resulted from negotiations with his Danish counterpart Troels Lund Poulsen and expressed gratitude to the Danish side for its leadership and unwavering support for Ukraine.

Additionally, Ukraine is working on new strategic solutions that will promote investments from Ukrainian companies in the countries participating in the ‘Ramstein’ format and the organization of production by European defense companies directly on Ukrainian territory. Furthermore, a new initiative for investing in the defense industry was announced during the recent meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group.
