“Our partners have been presented with options for ending the war. This war can be concluded. Both sides must agree to this. We have shown them the way forward,” Rubio noted during a conversation with journalists at the White House. He added that ideas were discussed and assured that “good meetings will take place.” According to the diplomat, Washington has shown a “finish line,” and it is important for both Ukraine and Russia to say “yes” to this goal.
“What happened yesterday with these missile strikes should remind everyone that this war must end”
Rubio emphasized that the U.S. aims to stop death and destruction, and stressed: “We have shown the way forward. We see the finish line, but both countries must reach it.” U.S. President Donald Trump also added that Washington will “put great pressure on both.” A journalist at the White House asked Trump if Russia is an obstacle to achieving a 30-day ceasefire. The U.S. President replied that he does not see it as an obstacle.
