The capital is wrapping up watermelon weekends with a special treat for the largest animals in the zoo

This Saturday and Sunday, Kyiv Zoo will host the final watermelon weekend, which promises to be a vibrant event for all visitors. Throughout this series of festive days, guests have had the opportunity to watch the zoo’s residents enjoy fresh seasonal treats. The conclusion of the series will feature a special breakfast for the true giants — Horace the elephant and Lily the hippo.
The Zoo Director Will Treat the Animals to Watermelons
According to Kyiv Zoo, this time the director of the facility, Kyrylo Trantin, will join the team of caretakers to personally feed the elephant and hippo juicy watermelons.
“On the last weekend of September, the director of Kyiv Zoo will personally treat Horace the elephant and Lily the hippo to juicy watermelons,” the announcement states.
Schedule for the Festive Feeding
The demonstration feeding of the animals will take place on September 27 and 28 at 12:00 PM. Visitors will not only be able to see how the giants enjoy their watermelon breakfast but also receive a boost of positive emotions from the festive atmosphere.
The zoo emphasizes that this weekend will mark the conclusion of the watermelon weekend series, so guests can expect special experiences and a great mood.
