Cultural Center Instead of Development

The Zagreb cinema building, which has long been the subject of disputes regarding possible demolition and redevelopment into a residential complex, will receive a new purpose. According to Kyiv City Council member Olesia Pynzenyk, the premises will be renovated into a modern cultural center that will serve the local community.

“Zagreb will live on! 20 years of disputes, battles, and discussions about yet another residential complex. And finally — a different decision. The right one. Instead of development, there will be the Zagreb cultural cluster here,” Pynzenyk wrote.

Details of the Renovation and Funding

The council member reported that funds for the renovation project have already been allocated. Thus, the building will be preserved, and within its walls, a modern, accessible space will be created, aimed at children, the elderly, veterans, and residents with limited mobility. According to Pynzenyk, the goal of the project is to create an inclusive environment for various population groups, where everyone can find interesting opportunities for development and recreation.
