Ukraine Needs More Air Defense Systems
Volodymyr Zelensky expressed gratitude to France for its significant support in the fight against Russian aggression and emphasized the importance of further strengthening Ukraine’s defense capabilities. The President highlighted that the primary need remains modern air defense systems and missiles to protect the civilian population and critical infrastructure.
“Thank you for all that France is doing to protect lives,” Zelensky noted.
Russia is Using Distractions to the World’s Attention
During the conversation, Zelensky pointed out that Russia is trying to take advantage of the world’s focus on events in the Middle East by carrying out more insidious and intense attacks against Ukraine. The Presidents discussed coordinating actions to counter these threats, particularly in the context of expanding the PURL program.
Additionally, the leaders agreed on further diplomatic steps and contacts with international partners aimed at increasing pressure on the Russian Federation in the coming weeks.
It is worth noting that a similar conversation between Zelensky and Macron took place in September, when they discussed the consequences of the nighttime shelling of Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities.
