Security Cooperation and Ukraine’s Experience

Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine is open to joint efforts to enhance protection against drone and missile attacks. The President highlighted that Ukraine’s experience, having repelled massive Russian strikes for the fifth consecutive year, including those involving Iranian drones, demonstrates the necessity of creating a unified defense system for the effective protection of the population and critical infrastructure.

“We have this system because for the past five years of full-scale war, we have been forced to fight against constant Russian strikes using, among other things, Iranian drones. It is very important that those to whom we offer our expertise can also help us strengthen ourselves. Thank you to His Majesty for the meeting and for the openness to dialogue,” Zelensky added.

Strengthening Bilateral Relations and Supporting Jordan

For his part, the press service of the King of Jordan noted that Abdullah II, during negotiations with Zelensky, reaffirmed his position condemning Iranian strikes against Arab countries. The King also stressed the serious risks posed by the continuation of the conflict, as well as the exacerbation of economic burdens for the region and the world. The prospects for developing bilateral relations and further strengthening cooperation between Ukraine and Jordan were discussed separately.

As part of his tour of Middle Eastern countries, the Ukrainian President has already visited Qatar, where Kyiv and Doha reached agreements on a strategic defense partnership for the next 10 years. Recently, Ukraine and Saudi Arabia also signed a defense cooperation agreement.
