Security and Air Defense Priorities
According to the head of the Ukrainian state, the discussion particularly focused on the security of Ukrainian airspace. Zelensky noted that President Trump is well-informed about the situation in Ukraine, and the parties reached an agreement on further cooperation to strengthen air defense systems. It was also agreed to organize meetings of the relevant teams for the practical implementation of the agreements.
“It was a very important and useful conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump. I congratulated President Trump and the entire American people on Independence Day. We in Ukraine are grateful for all the support provided, which allows us to save lives and maintain our independence. We have accomplished a great deal together with America and support all efforts to stop the killings and restore a normal, sustainable, and dignified peace. A worthy agreement for peace is needed, and Ukraine supports American proposals,” Volodymyr Zelensky stated.
Defense Industry and Future Cooperation
A separate topic of the conversation was the issue of the defense industry. The presidents discussed the possibilities of joint weapons production, including drones and modern technologies, which, according to Zelensky, are extremely important for ensuring Ukraine’s security. He emphasized readiness to implement joint projects with American partners.
Additionally, the parties raised the issue of mutual procurement and investments, as well as assessed the current diplomatic situation and prospects for further cooperation with other international partners to achieve sustainable peace.
