President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced the achievement of a strategic security agreement between Ukraine and Saudi Arabia following negotiations with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud. According to him, the meeting was productive and marked the beginning of a new stage of cooperation between the states.

Three key areas of strategic cooperation
Zelensky outlined three main areas in which the countries will deepen their cooperation. The first area is the export of Ukrainian security expertise and technologies for airspace protection. The second is the development of energy cooperation, which aims to strengthen Ukraine’s resilience in the face of ongoing challenges. The third area is ensuring food security, which is relevant for both states.
“There is a strategic security agreement that we are actively developing in three key areas. The first is the export of our Ukrainian security expertise and capabilities in air defense. The second is energy cooperation, which adds resilience to Ukraine in this difficult time. The third is the area of food security,” he wrote in a telegram.
The president emphasized that the parties have already identified specific tasks for working teams and expects a swift and complete implementation of the agreements reached.
Enhancing security and technological cooperation
Zelensky’s visit to Saudi Arabia was already the second since the beginning of spring. During the previous trip on March 26, Ukraine and Saudi Arabia signed an agreement on cooperation in the defense sector.
Separately, the president highlighted the importance of the signed “Drone Deal,” noting that agreements have already been reached with three leading countries in the region – the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar. Decade-long contracts have been signed with these states, which are expected to be the first serious step in developing joint technological solutions.
It is worth noting that Ukrainian specialists in counter-drone measures are already working in the Middle East, including in Saudi Arabia, contributing to the strengthening of regional security.
