Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced the preparation of a special meeting with Ukrainian ambassadors, during which priorities for further cooperation with the USA are to be determined. This decision was made following a report by Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha regarding the current agreements with the United States that are in the implementation stage.

“The minister reported on the agreements with the United States that are currently in progress. There is good momentum, and we expect results and strengthening of our cooperation with America. We are preparing for this Monday a meeting with ambassadors to define priorities, particularly regarding further relations with the USA,” he wrote in a telegram.

Ukraine Expands Sanction Pressure in Cooperation with the EU

Zelensky also emphasized the joint work with European countries that are not EU members to involve them in the recently adopted 18th package of sanctions. This step is aimed at strengthening the sanctions regime against Russia and its allies, so that pressure on the aggressor increases not only within the European Union.

Issues with the Return of Ukrainians from Russian Territory

During the meeting, the foreign minister informed about the difficult situation at the border between Russia and Georgia, where Ukrainian citizens are being forcibly expelled from Russian territory without prior notice from either side and without documents. Among them are those who are being released from prisons and camps in Russian-controlled territories. Ukrainian diplomats are currently actively working on organizing the transit of these citizens back home.

At the same time, the president reminded that while the approval of Olha Stefanishyna’s candidacy for the position of Ukraine’s ambassador to the USA is ongoing, she continues to perform the duties of the president’s special representative for cooperation with the United States.
