The President of Ukraine also thanked Poland for its ongoing support, stressing that the path to freedom and security is only possible through close unity of both nations and alongside other European countries. Zelensky specifically expressed gratitude to Andrzej Duda, who completed two terms as President of Poland, for his leadership and personal commitment to supporting Ukraine during the most challenging times.

Karol Nawrocki – New President of Poland
On August 6, in the Polish parliament, newly elected President Karol Nawrocki took the oath of office. The 42-year-old conservative politician, who led the Polish Institute of National Remembrance and received support from the opposition right-wing party Law and Justice (PiS), won in the second round of the presidential elections held on June 1. According to the official count by the electoral commission after processing 100% of the votes, Nawrocki received 50.89% of voter support.
Zelensky emphasized that since the beginning of the full-scale war, Ukraine has felt Poland’s concern, and the cooperation between the two states has been aimed at defending the independence of both countries.
