Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held a separate phone conversation with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer ahead of his scheduled meeting with US President Donald Trump in Florida.

As Zelensky noted on social media platform X, his morning in Florida began with a detailed conversation with the British Prime Minister. The leaders discussed preparations for the upcoming meeting with Trump, as well as Ukraine’s contacts with European partners.
“I started my morning in Florida with a detailed phone conversation with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer. We discussed preparations for the meeting with President Trump, as well as all our contacts with European partners,” Zelensky wrote on social media platform X.
Expectations from the Negotiations in Florida
The meeting between Volodymyr Zelensky and Donald Trump in Florida is scheduled for December 28, starting at 8:00 PM. The main topic of the negotiations will be the security guarantees for Ukraine that the US is prepared to provide.
Additionally, Zelensky announced his intention to discuss a 20-point peace plan that was prepared in collaboration with representatives from the US and EU countries. Donald Trump, in comments to American media, emphasized his expectation of a productive meeting with the Ukrainian leader.
Earlier, while in Canada, Zelensky held an online conversation with leaders of key European states, including Canada, France, Finland, Germany, Italy, Denmark, Poland, the Netherlands, Norway, and Sweden. According to official information from the UK government, Keir Starmer was unable to join this discussion due to a busy work schedule.
