The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, will hold a conference of foreign ambassadors in Kyiv on July 21, titled “From the Power of Diplomacy to the Diplomacy of Power.” The event aims to strengthen cooperation between Ukraine and its international partners, as well as draw attention to the realities of war and the lives of Ukrainians under Russian aggression.
Visit of Diplomats to Zaporizhia Region
On the eve of the conference, on July 20, dozens of foreign diplomats, led by Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha, visited the Zaporizhia region. The delegation visited areas close to the front line, particularly in the Orikhiv district and the city of Orikhiv. The ambassadors had the opportunity to learn about the realities of life for local residents who face daily threats from shelling by the Russian Federation.
Courage of Zaporizhia Residents and the Goals of the Conference
During the visit, diplomats were shown destroyed houses, trenches, an underground school, and other facilities that have been damaged due to Russian attacks. According to the Foreign Minister, the purpose of this trip is to demonstrate to the world the conditions under which Ukrainians in frontline regions are forced to live.
“The courage of the residents of Zaporizhia deserves our deepest respect. Despite constant Russian terror, the region continues to live, develop, and maintain its resilient spirit,” wrote Sybiha.
During the conference, President Volodymyr Zelensky will address the participants, outline the priorities of foreign policy, and discuss further cooperation with international partners in the context of the war.
