“I don’t have motivation; I have discipline. Motivation is a temporary thing; it’s here today and gone tomorrow. When I wake up in the morning for training, I don’t have motivation; I only have discipline,” Usyk noted.
He stressed that it is discipline that distinguishes professionals from amateurs, as only through persistent daily work can one reach such a level of mastery:
“Motivation is good, but discipline is better,” the Ukrainian added.
Usyk also shared the secret of his preparation for each opponent, noting that he does not underestimate any rival and always prepares for a serious fight. He emphasized his gratitude to the Ukrainian people for their support and dedicated the victory to Ukrainian defenders.
