The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, has signed a law ratifying the Agreement on a Century-Long Partnership between Ukraine and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. This document officially confirms the strategic nature of the relations between the two states and comes into effect after approval by Parliament.

Main Provisions of the Century Agreement
The agreement was signed on January 16, 2025, and contains 14 articles covering key areas of cooperation between the countries. The document provides for strengthening Ukraine’s defense capabilities, expanding security partnership, and joint efforts regarding Ukraine’s NATO membership.
In addition, the agreement addresses issues of energy cooperation, judicial system development, accountability for international crimes, countering information manipulation and interference by foreign states. Significant attention is given to leveraging the potential of socio-cultural ties and cooperation in migration policy.
Guarantees of Military Assistance and Prospects for Cooperation
According to the provisions of the agreement, Ukraine will receive military assistance from the United Kingdom amounting to at least $3.6 billion annually. This support aims to strengthen defense capabilities and ensure stability in the region. This step is further confirmation of London’s long-term intentions to support Ukraine on its path to European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
The ratification of this agreement demonstrates the readiness of both countries to deepen their strategic partnership, encompassing security, economic, and humanitarian aspects of cooperation.
