Synchronization of Sanction Packages with the EU
As explained by the President’s Commissioner for Sanctions Policy, Vladislav Vasyuk, these decrees allow for the complete integration of Ukrainian sanctions with the 15th, 16th, and 17th sanction packages of the European Union.
According to him, the 15th sanction package covers individuals from Russia, Belarus, China, and other countries. Among the individuals included in this package is Russian pilot Alexander Azarenkov, involved in the attack on the Ohmatdyt hospital, as well as the manufacturer of combat robots, LLC “Gumich”.
New Restrictions for Entities from Various Countries
The 16th package includes individuals from the Russian Federation, China, Turkey, and other countries. The list includes the Center “VOYN”, which conducts military-patriotic training in temporarily occupied territories, as well as LLC “Southern Fleet” – a company that transports Russian oil using the so-called “shadow fleet”.
The 17th sanction package encompasses companies from Russia, China, Turkey, and other countries. In particular, the gold mining company “Petropavlovsk” and the Chinese company Skywalker Technology Co. Ltd, which is involved in the production of drones for Russia, are subject to restrictions.
“The 16th package concerns individuals from Russia, China, Turkey, and other countries. The list includes the Center “VOYN”, which is engaged in military-patriotic education in occupied territories, and LLC “Southern Fleet”, which transports Russian oil with a shadow fleet. The 17th package includes companies from Russia, China, Turkey, and other countries. The gold mining company “Petropavlovsk” and the Chinese Skywalker Technology Co. Ltd, involved in the production of drones for Russia, are under sanctions,” Vasyuk added.
Vladislav Vasyuk emphasized the importance of maximum coordination among all participants in the sanctions coalition to achieve effective pressure on Russia.
On June 27, President Zelensky enacted the decision of the National Security and Defense Council to strengthen Ukraine’s sanctions policy, the EU, and the G7 countries regarding Russia and the countries supporting it. According to the head of state, these measures are aimed at creating “the most severe consequences for the Russian Federation for the criminal and unprovoked war unleashed against Ukraine.”
