Generators were purchased for the capital’s resilience points
In Kyiv, police officers, together with the Security Service of Ukraine, uncovered a Kyiv City State Administration official who made a significant overpayment during the procurement of generators for the capital’s resilience points. According to the investigation, the budget losses exceed 4.8 million UAH.
Details of the Investigation into the Tender
The investigation established that during the blackouts in 2023, the head of one of the KMD departments entered into a contract with a private company for the purchase of diesel generators to equip heating points in Kyiv. Judicial experts determined that the cost of the equipment was significantly inflated, and the amount of overpayment exceeded 4.8 million UAH.
Negligence and Consequences for the Official
Law enforcement officials found that the official did not conduct a proper review of market price proposals and did not assess the actual cost of the generators, which led to significant losses for the city budget.
“The overpayment” amounted to over 4.8 million UAH.
The official has already been notified of suspicion under part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — official negligence. The law provides for up to five years of imprisonment for this crime, with a ban on holding certain positions or engaging in specific activities for up to three years.
