Protecting the Defense Industry During Wartime
According to the explanation from the head of the government, this decision was made in response to requests from defense product manufacturers. The goal is to enhance the protection of Ukrainian enterprises from potential Russian attacks and sabotage. From now on, information about the location and production capacities of defense factories will not be available in public aggregators, to prevent unauthorized access to this data.
“We are strengthening the protection of Ukrainian arms manufacturers from Russian attacks and sabotage. In response to requests from manufacturers, the government has decided to limit access to data about defense industry enterprises from public registries, including their locations and production capacities,” Svyrydenko wrote on Telegram.
Safeguards and Importance for Security
The Prime Minister emphasized that the restrictions apply exclusively to defense manufacturers and will only be in effect during the period of martial law. According to her, the security of the defense industry is critically important for scaling up weapons production, implementing innovations, and effectively supplying the Ukrainian army.
Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that over 40% of the weapons used at the front are produced in Ukraine. He later noted that hundreds of Ukrainian companies are involved in the production of weapons for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
