Zelensky Thanks Witkoff and Kushner for Collaboration on Peace Plan for Ukraine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held a phone conversation with representatives of the U.S. President’s team, Stephen Witkoff and Jared Kushner. During the conversation, he thanked the American partners for their constructive and intensive collaboration, as well as for extending Christmas greetings to the Ukrainian people.

Discussion of the Peace Plan and Next Steps

Volodymyr Zelensky asked the U.S. team to convey Christmas greetings to Donald Trump and his family. The President emphasized that the Ukrainian team is working around the clock to expedite the end of the war and ensure the effectiveness and reliability of all necessary documents and decisions.

“True security, true restoration, true peace – this is what we all need in Ukraine, in the U.S., in Europe, and from every partner who helps us. I hope that our Christmas agreements and ideas discussed today will be beneficial,” noted Volodymyr Zelensky.

20-Point Plan and Russia’s Position

Earlier this week, Zelensky reported on a 20-point plan developed during negotiations between Kyiv and Washington, which outlines the main principles for ending the war. The document stipulates that Ukraine will receive reliable security guarantees and sets the number of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in peacetime at 800,000 military personnel.

Official representatives of the Russian Federation have so far refrained from commenting on this plan. Meanwhile, according to a source close to the Kremlin, Russia will demand “key changes” to the peace plan developed by Ukraine and the U.S.
