Scale of Losses and Destruction

As reported by the head of state, the situation remains extremely difficult: just in the last week, Russian troops have used over 3,100 drones, 92 missiles, and about 1,360 guided bombs on Ukrainian cities and villages. The President stressed that the actions of the Russian Federation are leading to numerous casualties among the civilian population. In particular, recently in Kostiantynivka, a child was killed as a result of an airstrike while in a church.

“Moscow is allowing itself to escalate strikes and is openly taking advantage of the world’s focus on ensuring peace in the Middle East. That is why no easing of pressure can be allowed. Sanctions, tariffs, joint actions regarding buyers of Russian oil that finances this war – everything must remain on the table. And this is what can pave the way for lasting peace in Europe. The world can guarantee this alongside the peace process in the Middle East. Thank you to everyone who is helping,” the president concluded.

Response from Ukraine and International Organizations

Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that relevant services are continuously working to eliminate the consequences of the shelling, repairing critical infrastructure, and providing assistance to affected citizens. The President called on local leaders to provide maximum support for those affected by the attacks.

Recently, Russian troops have intensified strikes on energy and gas facilities, complicating preparations for the heating season and creating additional risks for Ukrainians. Despite this, the leadership of the Russian Federation denies the facts of targeted attacks on the civilian infrastructure of cities and villages, which lead to the deaths of civilians and the destruction of hospitals, schools, kindergartens, energy facilities, and water supply systems.

At the same time, Ukrainian authorities and international organizations classify such actions as war crimes, emphasizing the systematic and targeted nature of the attacks aimed at undermining the safety and livelihoods of the civilian population.
