Zelensky Visits Prague for Meeting with the President of the Czech Republic

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived at Prague Castle on May 4 for talks with Czech leader Petr Pavel. He announced this on his Telegram channel, posting a corresponding video.

According to information, the visit includes planned bilateral talks “face-to-face” and in an expanded format, as well as a meeting with media representatives. Zelensky noted that the meetings will focus on discussing diplomatic efforts and joint pressure on Russia to achieve a lasting ceasefire and end the war.

“Meetings are scheduled with President Petr Pavel and Prime Minister Petr Fiala, the heads of parliamentary chambers, leaders of parliamentary factions, as well as defense company executives, students, and the Ukrainian community,” Zelensky wrote on Telegram.

Diplomatic and Military Issues in Focus During the Visit

According to the president, the First Lady of Ukraine will participate in the opening of the Healthcare Initiative for Ukraine conference – an important platform for strengthening international medical cooperation and saving the lives of Ukrainians. Earlier, the Czech president’s administration confirmed that Zelensky would visit the Czech Republic on May 4 and meet with Petr Pavel.

Czech media and official sources reported that during the visit, the President of Ukraine, along with his wife Olena, plans to discuss military assistance to Ukraine. The Czech Republic has confirmed its readiness to provide additional weapons, including attack helicopters and large-caliber ammunition, as well as to facilitate the training of Ukrainian pilots on F-16 fighter jets.
