In Kyiv, police officers together with the Security Service of Ukraine detained a 33-year-old agent of the Russian special services who organized the arson of military vehicles and planned an assassination attempt on a high-ranking officer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The perpetrator acted on the instructions of his handlers from Russia, carrying out tasks to destabilize the situation in the Ukrainian army.

Details of the Operation and the Agent’s Actions
Law enforcement officials established that the suspect arrived in Ukraine from the temporarily occupied Crimea back in 2021. Initially, he settled in Ivano-Frankivsk, where he remained unnoticed for some time, waiting for instructions from his handlers. He later moved to Kyiv, where he began active sabotage activities.
It is known that the criminal burned five military vehicles in the capital. One of the vehicles belonged to a Hero of Ukraine. It was during the last arson that the suspect was caught at the scene of the crime.

Preparation for the Assassination of a Ukrainian Armed Forces Officer
After carrying out the arsons, the agent received a new task: to organize an assassination attempt on one of the high-ranking officials of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Following the instructions of the Russian special services, he was to find and eliminate a Ukrainian military officer, after which he was promised assistance in fleeing to the territory of the Russian Federation to avoid responsibility.
“According to the coordinates from the Russian handlers, he retrieved a firearm with ammunition from a hideout and began preparations for committing the murder.”
Law enforcement was able to prevent the crime in time: the agent was detained before the assassination attempt could be carried out. Investigative actions are currently underway to establish all circumstances and possible accomplices of the detained individual.
