President of the European Council António Costa arrived in Uzhhorod on September 5. This was reported by the European Union Ambassador to Ukraine, Katarina Mathernova.

Participation in the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities
According to Katarina Mathernova, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, EU representatives, as well as national, regional, and local leaders joined the events in the city. They are participating in the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities to honor the resilience of Ukrainian communities and discuss issues of recovery and Ukraine’s future within the European Union.
Meetings Between Zelensky, Costa, and Fico
In his address to the participants of the International Economic Forum “Ambrosetti,” President Zelensky announced a meeting with António Costa and Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico. According to the Slovak news agency TASR, the meeting between Zelensky and Fico will also take place in Uzhhorod, with energy infrastructure being a key topic.
The press service of the Slovak government clarifies that the President of Ukraine and the Prime Minister of Slovakia will announce the results of their negotiations at a joint press conference. Additionally, Robert Fico did not rule out the possibility of an informal conversation with the President of the European Council António Costa.
It is worth noting that prior to this, the Prime Minister of Slovakia was in Beijing, where he participated in a military parade on September 3. During this visit, Fico had a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
