During the meeting, Kyrylo Budanov emphasized that Ukraine is determined to continue implementing structural reforms aimed at ensuring long-term economic stability, supporting post-war reconstruction, and facilitating integration into the European Union. Representatives of the Office of the President highlighted the importance of sustainable partnership with the IMF for achieving these ambitious goals.

“Ukraine is committed to continuing structural reforms that will contribute to long-term economic stability, post-war reconstruction, and further movement towards the European Union.”

For his part, Gavin Gray confirmed the IMF’s readiness to continue systematically supporting Ukraine and expressed confidence in finding constructive solutions that would strengthen the country’s economic potential.

Priorities and progress of reforms

Iryna Mudra provided a detailed account of the progress of reform implementation, particularly in the area of preventing and combating corruption. According to her, one of the key tasks for Ukraine remains the unwavering fulfillment of obligations outlined in the cooperation program with the IMF.

Since May 27, the IMF mission has begun a series of meetings in Kyiv as part of the first review of the current financing program. At the beginning of March, Ukraine already received the first tranche under the new four-year program within the Extended Fund Facility.

Additionally, in February, the Board of Directors of the International Monetary Fund made a decision to approve a new four-year extended financing program for Ukraine amounting to 8.1 billion US dollars.
